Craig, Jen, Sara and I hung out with Dennis and Cami at Smith Point this weekend. They were camping on the beach all week.
There's something about falling asleep and waking up on the beach, the ability to stay put instead of fighting the traffic and having to lug piles of stuff to and from the parking lot, and having shower and cooking facilites 200 feet away from the water that really appeals to me. I've informally been looking at campers on eBay to see if anyone is selling something cheap within 100 miles of me. There are quite a few affordable trailers I could easily tow with the new truck.
Maybe if I can get some bills paid off, I'll see what I can do about getting something in the 21-27' range.

Tell me about your Dodge truck...I have seen a few and they are nice. Getting rid of the Corvette was so the right thing to do. Did you get a good trade-in deal for the Corvette???? Did you get a new cell phone # yet???? Any fish????

We had an Airstream (1973, used, 20'?) when I was in high school. It was a bit tight for a family of four, but workable, and a fun way to get around. Would complement the truck nicely.

Airstreams are really nice. I'd consider them top of the line. Most of the stuff for sale on eBay are the newer trailers, though. It's tough to find a good used Airstream on the auction sites because people tend to snatch those "vintage" RVs and trailers up pretty quickly. Odds are I'll have to go with a Coachman or Trail Lite (or something along those lines) under 29'. I've seen quite a few in the $3K to $6K range. Hopefully those prices might come down even a bit more given how quickly fuel prices are going up.
Did you guys camp a lot growing up?
